New to Flow: Inline Editing & Task Form Tweaks

By Luke on June 12, 2012

Task apps live and die by their task forms. We’re very proud of ours, but we’re constantly looking for ways to make it even better. It has always made adding lots of detail easy, but it can feel cumbersome when you needed to edit a long task description. So we came up with a better way: you can now edit task descriptions (and titles!) right on task pages!

We’ve also updated the task form with two small improvements. First, we’ve put due dates inside the same blue tokens you’re used to seeing...

The New Flow Status Page

By Luke on May 11, 2012

When you keep something running 24/7, dealing with the occasional bug is just part of the process. They’re pretty rare in Flow, but when they do pop up, we know how important it is to respond quickly and communicate with our users about what’s happening.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to setup a new status page for Flow. So from now on, any time you encounter an issue with Flow’s web, iPhone, or Mac apps, all you have to do is check status.getflow.com to find the latest status updates while...

New to Flow: List Duplication

By Luke on May 2, 2012

We’re happy to introduce a great little feature to Flow today: list duplication.

From now on, you can re-create any list and all its tasks simply by selecting "duplicate" from the list-options menu.

This should be especially handy if you find yourself regularly adding the same tasks to new lists. Now you can just create a template with those common tasks and the next time you start a new list, just hit "duplicate" and you’re ready to roll.

As an added bonus, we’ve made it so a list with...

New to Flow: Email Attachments

By Luke on April 26, 2012

It’s always been easy to create and delegate tasks, leave comments, and receive notifications via email, but until now attachments had to be added in-app.

Not anymore. From now on, any time you email a task to tasks@getflow.com or reply to a notification to comment, any files you attach will automatically be uploaded to the task.

Enjoy!

Automatic Task Clearing is Now Optional

By Luke on April 19, 2012

Last week, we introduced automatic task clearing to Flow, eliminating the extra step of having to "sweep" away completed tasks.

Following the change, we received a surprising amount of feedback from users who preferred the old way of manually clearing tasks, some because they liked having that visual record up front, others because they liked the feeling of accomplishment that came with clearing completed tasks.

Whatever the reason, we heard you loud and clear: the automatic clearing of completed...

New to Flow: Automatic Task Clearing and Better Emails

By Luke on April 13, 2012

Automatic Task Clearing

Checking off tasks in Flow has always seemed a bit anticlimactic to us: after what should be a triumphant final click, the task just stayed there, cluttering up your list until you tapped the clear button to sweep it away once and for all.

No longer. From now on, tasks in Flow will be automatically cleared the moment you complete them, so your first click will be your last. And if you need to find a completed task after it’s gone, no problem: there’s a new "Show Completed...

Sneak Peek: Flow for iPhone v2.0

By Luke on April 4, 2012

The Flow team has been hard at work on a new, completely re-imagined Flow iPhone app.  The upcoming Flow iPhone 2.0 app has been designed from the ground-up for speed, speed and more speed.  The result? Dramatically faster load times in every area, from task creation and editing to comment activity and beyond.

The ’new task’ form below is the first in a series of teasers we’ll be releasing as we go:

We’re still testing it out internally at this stage, but we were too excited about it not to...

New to Flow: Public Search, Drag 'n Drop, and more...

By Luke on March 30, 2012

With Flow celebrating its first birthday last week, we thought it would be a good time to roll out a few new features and updates we’ve been working on…

New Public Search and Contact Requests

The new public search makes it possible to search the Flow userbase for contacts by name, making it much easier to find and add collaborators in Flow. Any contact requests sent this way will require the consent of the individual, of course, and if you’d rather not appear in public search results at all...
