With Flow celebrating its first birthday last week, we thought it would be a good time to roll out a few new features and updates we’ve been working on…

New Public Search and Contact Requests

The new public search makes it possible to search the Flow userbase for contacts by name, making it much easier to find and add collaborators in Flow. Any contact requests sent this way will require the consent of the individual, of course, and if you’d rather not appear in public search results at all, you can always opt-out simply by toggling the privacy switch in your account preferences any time.

New Comment Form

Attaching files to your comments should be fast and painless, so we’ve gone ahead and added drag ’n drop functionality to the comment form to take out that extra step. It’ll work with any file type, including video. Just drag, drop, and you’re done.

On top of that, we’ve also streamlined the process for inviting new collaborators and made the comment form expandable, so if you’re that person on the team who likes to leave essay-length comments on tasks (we all have one), you’ll now be able to look over all your brilliant ideas and prized insights before finally hitting "post."

New Add Contact Modal

It may not sound all that exciting at first, but trust us on this one. With the new contact modal you can now connect to your Facebook and Twitter accounts to find others in your network who also use Flow, and signing-in to Google will let you browse all your contacts for would-be collaborators. In other words, no more jumping back and forth between apps trying to find full names and email addresses. It’ll all just be there.

New List Form

We’ve upgraded the New List form to make organizing tasks in Flow as clear-cut as possible. The new pop-out form is fast, convenient, and simple to use, plus we’ve added the ability to file lists directly into folders so you won’t have to worry about it later on. It’s a small detail, but we’re all about the small details around here. They’re game changers. They make a difference.

New Welcome Modal and Quick Guide

While this won’t have too much of a first-hand impact on users already familiar with Flow, by overhauling our on-boarding we’ve made inviting and integrating new collaborators that much easier. First-time users will now be guided through Flow’s key features step-by-step, so by the time they’re in the app they’ll be ready to get straight to work.
